I purchased and financed a used 2020 Jeep Gladiator from this dealership. After the sale I discovered that the hardtop was missing 5 of the 7 bolts that hold it in place, very unsafe. Also found paperwork in glovebox from previous owner that included their name, address, social security number, etc. Apparently, Bob Poynter Jeep does not even do the basic vehicle inspection of used vehicles! I also discovered that I was charged a convenience fee of $22.50 for title work that was not required to obtain credit to purchase the vehicle. Very disappointed in this dealership and do not recommend it.

HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT!!! I BOUGHT MY 2024 JEEP WRANGLER BRAND NEW AT THE JEEP STORE. HAS 14300 MILES IT WAS BROKE DOWN IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I CALLED TO GET IT TOWED THEY WANTED $284. TO TOW IT, I KEPT ASKING IF THE BATTERY WAS BAD IF THEY WAS GOING TO REPLACE IT THEY SAID NO THAT IT HAD A 1 YR 12K MILE WARRANTY ON BATTERY, THIS WENT ON FOR OVER A WEEK AND FINALLY I HAULED IT MYSELF TO SALEM THEY GOT IT RIGHT IN AND FIXED IT RIGHT AWAY AND EVERYTHING WAS COVERED UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE DEALERSHIP IN SEYMOUR AND I ALWAYS DELT WITH THIS PLACE SINCE BOWMAN S OWNED IT. LOST MY BUSINESS!!!!!!!

Found a truck on their website we were interested in. Description and pictures made it sound and look like a great vehicle. No mention or photos of giant scratches in the paint or front end damage on this $41,000 truck. Drove an hour to come look at it before purchasing. Arrived and discovered huge scratches in the paint of one door, and damage to the front bumper/headlight/fender. That's as far as we got before walking away. Why would this not be mentioned/shown on the website listing? Looked like something you'd find on the back row or maybe something they'd send to auction. Not really expecting unrepaired collision damage on a $41k vehicle at a new car dealership. Glad we wasted 2 hours roundtrip.

Worst Service Department Ever and Experience: (6/25-7/7) (1) had a scheduled oil change 6/25/25 plus asked to get two things diagnosed while in shop (2) stated Friday they will get around to the car and have something for us (3) Friday comes tell us to Call Saturday and they will have something for us (4)6/25- Andy gave a call to ask for the warranty paperwork since I had mentioned that the truck has warranty and what my husband and I suspect was wrong with car is the manifold and when turning the steering make a grind noise (5) 6/27/25- sent a text asking for update- no answer (6)6/30 called and was told a manager was gonna call me by the end of the day. (No one called) (7) 7/1 called to speak to a manager and was finally transferred and explained Wednesday will be a week the car has been in the shop and there is a lack of communication, no updates, and was explained no technician is available but a loaner car can be given. (8)7/1 Loaner car was dropped off and decided that was kind and continue to wait. (9)7/2 texted for update(no reply) (10)7/3- was given this answer (Yes point to the exhaust manifold however the noise will brake and turning is still being determine. Vehicle is in the shop once we have a diagnostic we will ask your extended warranty company if there is coverage. Reply STOP to OptOut.) (JUST ANOTHER RUN-AROUND) WAS NOT A GOOD SIGN (11)7/7/25- called and was transferred left message and decided enough is enough Wednesday 7/9 (will be the 3rd week vehicle isn’t even Looked at) (12)called other dodge shop that can get us in sooner and looked at and was told wait time and run around was ridiculous. (13)husband and I called and was sent to Andy’s voicemail and both upset and decided today is it and we are picking our truck up and dropping off loaner. (14)7/7 husband arrives visibly upset and come to find out not even are OIL CHANGE was done and Andy was vindictive and aggression was shown and mentioned “ what do you want me to do? You have your son in your hand? “ Which my husband was taken back) what was the point of that aggression or comment? And to call someone Jack***- Unprofessional and we have and had the right to be upset. I’m due at anytime and we had a schedule appointment we WERE NOT a WALK-IN

I wish "0" stars was an option. I Don't recommend buying a used vehicle from them. I called and explained that i was an hour away and would be coming with cash and pre approval to buy a used vehicle for $20000. I asked if there was any issues and wanted to make sure that everything was good before I luged my pregnant wife an hour to see a car. I was assured it was a quality car. When I got there the sales person gave me the keys and explained he was working with another customer and would get to me when he was finished. The lack of care for us was obvious from the entire staff as they only gave attention to customers buying new cars. When I got in the car, it had low air in the tires and I asked them to put air in the tires for a test drive and they said it would be fine to drive without adding air. Reluctantly we drove the car. It had serious vibrations and definition had something going on with the drive train. As I returned from the short drive, the check engine light came on. I went to the sales manager to complain and his body language definitely showed he didn't care. He even stopped mid conversation to address someone else's complaints on another vehicle they had issues with. Basically the attitude was if you dont want the car, why are you still here. Seymour doesn't have many car lots I assume and it's a shame that anyone looking for a second vehicle, or even a good quality used vehicle has to go there and deal with them.

Never use these guys. I purchased a 2020 Sonic a few years ago and the salesman, Trent, assured me that the used car was a certified Used Car with a warranty. Come to find out when the car started having engine trouble with the water pump that I only had power train warranty, which was *not* what I was assured. When I brought this to the salesman's attention, he assured me that he would get me the warranty and I never heard back. I finally got so disgusted that I traded it into Carver Toyota in Columbus. Don't work with these people and don't trust them.

Buyer beware, pointed out that they put c rated tires on a 2500 truck, which is a big nono. Instead of doing the right thing, they just stopped responding to my emails on the vehicle. If someone buys that vehicle and tows with it unknowingly, they could be in for a very bad day.

Horrible experience. Was supposed to be done in a day and they’ve had it for 2 1/2 days. Was supposed to start on my vehicle on Wednesday and they didn’t start my service till the following Thursday after telling me “it’s about done we’re wrapping everything up” as they haven’t even started it. Have had to find rides for the past 2 days to work and back and going to have to find someone to pick up my vehicle as I live 30 mins away because I have to work. Every person I talked to was rude and lied to me.

Absolutely terrible service, I am reminded why I don't take my vehicles to their service center, I walked in last Wednesday and the two guys behind that counter both looked at me and went back to starring at their computers, not a I will be with you in a moment, good morning, nothing A lady walked in was very nice got me checked in and pointed me to my service adviser. One of the guys that didn't help me when I first came in, he acted like it was putting him out by having to take my information and get me loaner car. I asked him when they would get my car in to get looked at, I had an appt for that day. All he said was I don't know we are short tech's. I didn't hear anything from him for two days I had to call, and he sounded like I was putting him out wanting an update on MY Car. His response it still hasn't been looked at they don't have any Tech's. They have had my vehicle for 7 days and the only time I have gotten an update is when I had to call and leave a message. Absolutely No customer service skills rude as ever, sounds like he just woke up from a nap. So not only does their service team lack professionalism but they don't have anyone that can diagnose a vehicle. I made an appointment it should not take them 7 days to look at my vehicle to figure out what is going on.

I made an appointment to have my car serviced for July 10th, and finally decided to just take it back August 16th. While they were able to complete the appropriate recalls and fix my AC, they did not fix my airbag light or order the key copy that I requested, despite my car being in the shop for 37 days. My service manager, Lori, failed to pick up the phone on multiple occasions, did not call back when I left voicemails, and only called me about two times through the 5 week ordeal. After dropping my car off for an appointment and discussing what I wanted done on my car, I sat down and waited for an hour. I returned to the desk, only for her to say that she forgot I was there and would call me later with the timeline/prices later. She did not call, and I ended out just calling myself a week later, where she did not pick up after multiple tries. I eventually went in person, only to find that my service sheet had been lost. As someone who has worked in multiple service jobs, I completely understand when simple mistakes are made, but it seems that this service department completely dropped the ball in my scenario. Instead of owning up to any mistakes they blamed my car not being fixed on time to ordering delays (I suspect that they did not order the required parts until weeks after my appointment) and completely forgot about my key, despite me bringing it up multiple times.

Skylar Prange sold us a LEMON.!!! We purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox from Skylar Prange at Bob Poynter Chrysler in Seymour. Just a few weeks after the purchase, the vehicle NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. Here locally, we were quoted $8,500 - $10,000 from different repair shops for a new engine. You cannot tell me that Skylar and Bob Poynter WERE NOT aware of problems brewing with that vehicle when they sold it to us! I DO NOT recommend Bob Poynter for your vehicle needs!

i bought a car there and still owe on it and they sold it to me and i'm just now finding out it doesn't have the original miles and now the motor is locked up. do not recommend going there. they were not trust worthy to me.

The mileage on the day of purchase was over 121.000 and was accurate. There are things that could go wrong in two plus years with an older and higher mileage vehicle and we don't show any record of it ever being serviced since the date of purchase. Not happy with my purchase at all. I went to Bob Poynter cause I wanted to go to the best in hopes that I would get the best and not have to worry about the car I'd buy from them. Let me start with after I purchased my 2012 Chrysler 300C it took me almost 2 months to get the car after I had already paid for the car cause there was problems with the car that they kept having to fix things before I could get it from them. When I test drove it. I was only able to do a limited test drive cause they steering wheel was shaking really bad while driving it and they promised to get it fixed. They told me it was just a return line from my steering rack to the resivour was leaking and needed to be replaced so they fixed it and I drove it and still had problems. They ended up having to placed both rotors in the front end and brakes and also the fromt passenger cailiper and also 4 new tires cause they was really bad and was causing some of them problems and they fixed that and still had problems after I drove it and they steering wheel was still jerking and they had to look at it again to tell me the front tension struts needed to be replaced as well. For one how many times do they have to have someone work on a car before they figure out what's wrong with it. Even after replacing the line for the power steering I'm still having to take the front passenger side tire off twice to add power steering fuild so it's still leaking some where. I also had them service the transmission cause it was acting with it was shifting hard when I'd let up off the gas. But actually what I have found it's the eco that's shifting hard down into 4 Cylinders. They also had to do a re alignment and fix a nozzle for my windshield fuild to spare. Now after only having the car a few months it's sitting in my driveway not wanting to start cause I'm having some kind of electrical issues and it's the only car I have to drive at the moment. Not happy at all with my experience and all I wanted was a good experience with them since they are supposed to be one of the best dealerships.

Had my vehicle in for warranty work. My service advisor was not honest with me from my point of initial contact. Through my experience with him, he was argumentative, interruptive and would not listen to what my complaint was and doubted what I told him. I picked my car up on March 30 and they were confident it was fixed. Well, here I am a week later and the same issue is back. I now have videos to back up what is going on with my car. We’ll see what happens. Also I bought this vehicle from here and I never dreamed I would be treated so poorly. I’ll never buy another vehicle from here.

Poor Customer Service & management. Was trying to purchase a 2022 Dodge Charger GT RWD stock #22D476, on which they upped the price of the car vs the online advertised price. They gave a low-ball trade offer on a BRAND-NEW truck with 600 miles. The salesperson I was dealing with wasn't in yesterday, so I asked to speak with the new car manager. I was placed on hold, then told they were not in. So, I asked to speak to a manager that was in but was hung up after being told to hold on! - Guess they don't want to sell their vehicles.

We have sent 2 cars for keys to be made to their service Dept. Both times they said they needed computers. ($1200) I complained to service manager who could careless. Then Bob Poynter told us to find another dealer. I was told by everyone not to use their service dept but didn’t listen. Called Malcomb lock and he fixed both within 1 hour. Definitely get a 2nd opinion before you let them change computer in your car.

Terrible experience, had an appointment to come look at a jeep and Bryce sold it as we were sitting there waiting on him, even let us test drive it while we waited, and we even told him if he had brought someone else in to look at it that we weren’t going to sit there and waste our time, made us wait 45 mins and then come to tell us some girl was waiting on a credit approval for it and if she didn’t get approved then he would call us. Two hours later I had to call and ask! And he said he had sold it! CRAPPPPYYYYYY service !!!

We had a horrible service department experience that we will never go back. We bought a 2013 Ram 1500, the sales was ok, Trent was honest about everything. The problem was our vehicle has an air ride system. Bob Poynter Service Department work on and off our truck from November 2018 to April 13, 2022. It is still not working right. We was sold an extended warranty that didn't cover any of this.Now Poynter did cover alot of the repairs but yesterday I was told we will have to pay $1100 for a new control module that I told them 2 years ago it was bad. Now there are new techs and service coordinators who absolutely the worst people to even talk to. Andy was our service coordinator who likes to talk down and tries to intimidate. We will take our truck out of town for any service it needs from now on. How does Bob Poynter himself let this go on at the Seymour Jeep,Dodge location I will never know. Absolutely the worst service department experience we have ever encountered. 2 thumbs down! Buyer beware!

Among the worst car buying experiences ever - quoted the wrong loan rate in the write up - said "no hidden fees" and then added fees - said "don't worry, we will hold the vehicle" and then sold the vehicle - pulled out the magic "I have an additional rate discount coupon" after saying they gave us the best possible rate - claimed they texted us multiple times during the process and did not actually do so. Went so far as to say "for some reason I can't find the outgoing texts on my phone" Buyer Beware

Service department is unable to handle the workload. They keep the mechanics overwhelmed and this results in rushed, poor quality work. This also keeps customers circling back to fix the original repair. This adds more work to the list and puts them farther behind. I needed mirrors changed on my truck. They were incorrectly ordered or not ordered several times. When they were installed, they were installed incorrectly. This resulted in a bent door frame, interior panel is loose, scratched dash, and the mirror needed to be reordered.

I have bought several new Chrysler vehicles from Poynters and it can honestly say I will not buy any more from them. Their customer service was absolutely terrible!! They never returned my calls and never kept me updated. I felt talked down to quite often, like I was a pain in their side! The jeep I have was in the shop for 6 weeks to get a brake line repaired. The brake line busted because it was rubbing against the sway bar link since they put the lift on. When I told them they reason, I was talked down to and told that could not be the reason! Well, guess what? It was the reason! I had to call Chrysler myself to get the hose expedited. I told Chrysler the same thing that I am writing here--I will never buy from Poynters again due to terrible customer service!

First they misquoted my grandpa and then wouldn't honor it, he then offers to meet half way on the 2nd quote on a 40,000+ Jeep Grand Cherokee and they wouldn't budge over $500. I purchased a Ram from here and I won't be back. **update- My grandpa purchased identical vehicle at Russ Hubler Jeep in Newcastle Indiana for a better price and higher trade value, highly recommended dealership and worth the drive.

Used to have good service, however not so good anymore. Used to wash the truck when it was in for repairs. ABS failed, waiting on parts, got an unsafe truck that I cant drive because waiting on parts. Not happy, may not be back.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Kept my vehicle for 12 days, inspected it on the final day and “didn’t find any issues”. I brought the vehicle in for intermittent throttle sticking (a serious safety issue!) twice with no resolution. Any other issues this dealership has “attempted” to deal with are never resolved, except for a recall fix, which was just updating software. Purchasing a vehicle here is an amazing experience, but I would NEVER recommend their service department to anyone.

I was looking to purchase used 3rd row SUV and found one I was interested in and contacted dealership finance department to be told to complete online credit application (which I promptly completed) then followed up the next day to inquire about next step and only received voicemail and left name and number......NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM, when I drove up to the dealership the next day to speak to someone in person I see the vehicle I wanted being sold in front of me. POOR COMMUNICATION!!! Dont waste your time doing online credit application!! Go in person since they don't return calls

Did not have a good experience getting a new brake master cylinder installed Call for appointment and had to wait a week but I understand they were busy I tried call for 2 days prior to my appointment and could not get anyone in service department to answer the phone Called multiple times and even left a voicemail Never heard back from the voicemail Tried calling and going thru sales and parts department to get a hold of service but to no avail Dropped he truck off the day before and asked to get an oil change added to the work order and was told “fine we can do it” Followed up the day of the work to find out when it was done I was told it would be done by noon but when I finally got to talk to the service department I was told it would be another day because they were behind from the previous days work Demanded my be done as I was scheduled to be out of the state the following day They did push mine ahead to get the work done When I went to pick it up the oil change did not get done so I would have to come back for that Not sure I want to schedule that one I have a Ford dealer in my county so I will probably just go with them to get it done

I had trouble getting the salesman Michael to make arrangements to get the door code and get a hole in the seat fixed. Both of these were supposed to be done before I picked up the truck. Neither one was. Truck was also dirty when I picked up. The was a decent amount of tar on the passenger side also. I won’t do business here again. Poor customer serviced

Terrible Service Dept. Strike 1 Took a Dodge Avenger to them to get key made they said it needed a computer. So I took it to Ace to have another key made. 10 Min $80. Strike 2 Took a PT Cruiser to them and they said it needed a transmission body. $1100 quote. Took it to another shop and it was a $30.00 wire that needed fixed. Strike 3 Took a Pacific to them because some broke the lock cylinder. Called me and said it needed modilizer. 365.00. I said ok do it. Called back and said it need a lock Cylinder $145.00. I said ok get it fixed. Called back again and said it needed a TPM $1100.00. Basical paid they $ $565.00 for nothing because I wouldn’t let them throw another part at it. Towed it there and then had to tow it away from there. These guys don’t have a clue on diagnostics of a car. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Our warranty was up by 154 miles. They wouldn't work with us at all. Spoke with Rod twice and he was beyond rude with us!

Be warned folks! This place is a Bait And Switch Place. They list vehicles for less than they will actually sell them for just to get calls and people in the door. They will even lead you on for a while. However, as soon as they feel they have you buying in SNATCH!!!! Oops. We found out there was a pricing error. Here is the right price. Over $5,000 More. So sorry about that. Lets look over here at something else. Just Dishonest And Wrong. So I totally agree with all of the other negative reviews that this place has got on all the review sites. Seen it first hand. Knowingly lying to people along with treating women badly (as I have heard lots of other people) is just wrong on so many levels and none of us should support it no matter what, because it will be you if you give them a chance. Go Elsewhere!!!!! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN.

BY FAR, the WORST car dealership I have ever given business to. Do not make the mistake I did by giving them your business! I traded in my 2015 Kia Optima that had less than 30,000 miles on it (which was in EXCELLENT condition) for a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country that also had less than 30,000 miles on it. I had no choice but to trade it in because we had just given birth to triplets. I have put less than 2000 miles on the van since I purchased it. The van has been having problems after problems. I decided to take it in for a full inspection. The brakes are already 80% worn. The wiring system is malfunctioning causing my turn signals, hazard lights, marker lights, etc. to work improperly. It already needs an alignment. The steering rack needs replaced. I've already had to replace the battery. When I scheduled the appt I made it clear that I needed a loaner vehicle that could accommodate a family of 6. I drove an hour there (yes, we live an hr away which they are aware of) to get there and find out that the vehicle they put aside for us was a Fiat! Yes, a freaking Fiat! Needless to say, they are wanting to charge me over $1000 to fix everything that I have yet to put 2000 miles on. This joke of a dealership clearly does not check their used vehicles or do any maintenance work to them prior to putting them on the lot. They would rather sell you a piece of junk that will end up costing you thousands of dollars to fix. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!

Absolutely horrible service. They treat you like you are an idiot and are not very professional. What started out as a simple gasket fix turned into ordering parts from St. Louis that I was never notified about until I went to pick up the car to which they then told me it was not ready and wouldn't be for a few days. For my inconvenience, they offered me a loaner truck that was covered in mud, than a car that had stains all over the interior.

I've had a 2010 dodge caravan for 6 months that I bought here and have had it in the service department 6 times now and 5 times for the same thing. They never actually diagnose the problem, they just replace parts and send me on my way. Every 60-90 days I have to take it back for the same damn problem that they never fixed. Every time, they have my van for over a week. This time it took them a whole week just to look at my van and now are getting ready to send me with it again without fixing the problem in its entirety!

Was at three stars but after finding out they omitted truths about our van purchase and then catching their service department in a lie one star is all we can give. The service department lies about most things they say they do and do not take responsibility for their mistakes. DO NOT TRUST THEM! They will cheat you every chance they get.
